There is a lot to do during the warmer months of the year. Plants grow quickly, many of them flower and even bear fruit. In order to grow, requires a constant supply of water and fertilizer, as well as adequate protection against pests and disease-causing microorganisms.
Maintaining a garden in summer takes time and effort, but is an experience that can really enrich you completely. And since we are already in the hottest weeks of the year, here are the garden care you should keep in mind during the summer of 2021:
- Irrigation. This is one of the most important tasks to be done all year round, but in summer its importance increases even more. The sun heats the soil much faster, so the water also evaporates faster and, of course, if it evaporates, the plants cannot use it properly. Therefore, it is necessary to water a lot and very often, if necessary daily, in the evening.
- Fertilizer. Water is as necessary as fertilization, especially during the period of maturation, which many garden plants have in the summer. If plants for human consumption, then use organic fertilizers. A layer of about 2-3 centimeters is placed around each of them, a little mixed with the soil and watered.
In addition to proper watering and fertilizing, you should pay particular interest to the prevention of pests and diseases through the elimination of wild weeds and natural and ecological procedures:
- Get rid of wild weeds. Wild grasses, or weeds, growing in the garden are a real problem: they grow very fast and, if we allow them, they can overrun the whole field. Also, you need to consider which can attract various pests, so one way to prevent them from appearing in the garden is to destroy the weeds.
- Natural and ecological treatments. If our plants already have pests, then we can treat them with the phytosanitary products for gardens that are available at ROOTS GARDEN such as, for example, neem oil.
