Even if you like to eat mangoes, the ideal time to savor them would be when you can buy them soon after harvest. <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">It is believed that eating respecting nature&#8217;s cycles and consuming seasonal fruits is not only good for health, but also promotes balance with the planet&#8217;s resources and its life forms.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">The nutrient content of foods changes with the seasons. For example, it was found that the nutrient content of milk is different in summers than in winters. This was due to the change in the cows&#8217; diet to fresh plants during the summer. The researchers also discovered noticeable changes in the nutrient content of some plants harvested in summers than in those harvested in winters.   <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Pesticides, waxes and preservatives have been added to fruits to preserve them out of season and also to maintain their fresh appearance. Pesticides and preservatives can harm human health and, therefore, eating in season can help prevent these harmful effects. <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">When foods are stored or preserved for a long period of time, they lose many nutrients and antioxidants.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Seasonal produce tastes better. Haven&#8217;t you noticed that fruits grown in the garden taste much better than those you buy from a supermarket chain? These mass-produced foods tend to suffer from a lack of flavor.
